Meet Michael – Founder, Explorer, Gearhead

Michael isn’t just the founder of Outside Extreme—he is Outside Extreme.

Raised near the Gulf Coast with little more than flatlands and a fishing rod, Michael’s thirst for adventure kicked into high gear after a life-changing trip to the Rocky Mountains in his teens. From that moment on, he was hooked. Climbing, kayaking, snowboarding, trail running, camping—if it involved nature and a challenge, he was all in.

He’s spent the last two decades pushing limits in some of the most rugged terrains across North and Central America. Through it all, he became the go-to guy for gear advice, field hacks, and survival know-how. That’s when he realized there was a serious need for a gear shop built by real adventurers, for real adventurers.
