The Serious Foodie Calabrian Pepper Relish is a spicy, complex sauce, centered on the peppers from the hills of Calabria as the foundation of this wonderful sauce. This sauce is based on my Nonna's original Calabrian recipe, which uses mushrooms to infuse a heavy dose of umami (even if that word was never a part of the Italian lexicon). This sauce is the perfect balance of spicy & savory. Add a heaping spoonful to a bowl of pasta and fresh basil for an easy gourmet meal.
